A few days ago NieNie posted a photo of her bathroom and solicited advice from her readers about what she should do to liven it up. It got me thinking about wall decoration in general and reminded me that I too had been (am) in the market for some decorating inspiration for our boring bedroom. The home we used to live in that we gutted and renovated - recently went on the market and I saw some pictures online of the new decor. They had wallpapered an accent wall (behind the bed) in the master and it looked great. It almost looked like fabric - was very modern and cool. Once I started looking into newer wall covering options (papers/natural fibers and cork etc...) I found several really cool products out there. Including this one I found on Etsy. Now, I realize if I were really ambitious, I could probably make my own stencils - but honestly? I'd rather pay someone $30bucks and not bother with it, and these are great. Besides, all my free time these days is spent obsessing over "fertility charts" and pee sticks with ONE BASTARD LINE. No really, I wanted to share the find - because what a great, inexpensive way to add some interest to a wall?! And because - I need a distraction and home decorating sounds like a great one. Zack thinks I should focus my energy on becoming his kayaking buddy. Which might actually not be a bad idea, as when the two he has bails on him I wouldn't have to watch his miserable ass donate a kidney as he holds the couch down on a Saturday afternoon out of the unfairness that is not having a playdate. At 32.
Another thing I love, but haven't brought myself to make a purchase for - yet, are these earrings from an Australian company called POLLI. For those of you who haven't checked this link out before on my sidebar, here is a sample of their designs. They have a line of stainless steel, black and gold anodized jewelery pieces in addition to some really cool mobiles. Could be a nice baby shower gift. The cost is fairly reasonable - as the Australian and US dollar are about the same right now. Most of the earrings average about $50 bucks. Pretty cool huh?
Well so much for baby diversions. That didn't take long. Let's just jump right into baby gifts eh? I got more where that came from and you can bet your ass someone you know is bound to get knocked up. How about rattles? Zack will be all over these once I show him this one. This guys makes these beautiful rattles and they are completely natural. No dyes or stains used. Rad eh?
In case you didn't know I'm a "market researcher". I have more baby product knowledge than is healthy for a woman trying to conceive. If I didn't have this job - I'd still be a "market researcher", it's in my blood. I could never be Buddhist because of my obsession with the material. Its foul. Really.
Let's see...what else can I dig up for you...pick a topic any topic. Cosmetics? Yarn? Free patterns? Expensive Denim? Diaper Bins? WRINKLE CREAMS? Hair Straighteners? Shoes? You name it, just call me Clark Howard. Or, if you're not from Atlanta, call me Alice. But whatever you do, don't call me Ruth. I can't help you there.
